To NCLR:
Regarding the House health care legislation.
We find the health reform bills to be totaly inadequate. The real problems are cost and availability. Neither problem is addressed in the proposed plans.
Before making major reforms, before destroying what works and drafting more bills the government should fix the real problems:
1. Put a cap on legitimate law suits. Eliminate frivolous law suits.
2. Eliminate or at least reduce fraud and waste.
3. Allow health insurance companies to compete in all states.
4. Use the savings to shore up our hospitals and build more clinics and medical centers where our needy can be treated for free.
5. Children should be treated regardless of how they got to the US and where they came from.
We believe that the proposed complex systems are far to wastefull. Much of our money is moved from taxpayer to the government to insurance companies then back to the government and finally the health care provider. Money is wasted at each step.
Please continue to fight for real health care. Please don't accept complex propposals that do not address our problems.
